This page gives an overview into some of the organizations that I am part of outside of traditional schoolwork.
These extracurriculars have helped me to develop my leadership and soft skills throughout my time serving them.
Through partnership with the US Space Force Assoication, I am developing and founding the 2nd ever university chapter of the Space Professionals Society at Texas A&M. This society aims to bring together every person interested in a career in space—engineers, political scientists, business leaders, and everyone else that has a passion for the space industry. While founding the TAMU chapter of SPS, which will officially launch in the spring of 2025, I will also be serving as Vice President of the national SPS organization, helping to expand its reach across the country. This opportunity came to me after my interview with Eric Sundby, and I am more than thankful for the connections he made for me to make this possible.
This organization is one that I am fully invested in, as I believe the future of the space industry and human settlement of space is fully dependent on the people that will get us there. Anyone with an interest or passion in space has the unique opportunity to utilize and adapt their skills to the challenges presented.
As a member of the SEC at Texas A&M, I serve to be a representative voice for every single engineering student on campus. This involves working with faculty and administration, listening to the feedback given by students, and planning events that affect the whole College of Engineering. As the special events committee co-chair, I am in charge of planning the First Year Career Fair (FYCF), a career fair aimed towards freshmen students looking to gain experience talking to companies and recruiters. I am also now in charge of the first ever Engineering College Cup (ECC) at Texas A&M, a design based challenge event where teams of 4 compete against each other designing and building various projects. My partner and I managed the timeline, logistics, budget, and projects while ensuring this event was a success.
The SEC is an organization that I fully enjoy giving my time to. Through the events we put on and the impact we make on students across campus, I feel as though my time is being utilized for something bigger than myself. I am proud to be part of the SEC, and I am looking forward to spending the rest of my time in college as a member.
As a selected member of the first ever EDGE cohort at Texas A&M, I am excited to go through multiple phases of personal development and growth while learning how to be a global engineer. During my time in EDGE, I have listened to multiple speakers from academia and industry share their experiences on personal and professional development. I have also gone through many exercises that have helped me to expand my leadership abilities. By being in a cohort of just 35 students, I am able to grow closer to my peers, developing relationships that will last a lifetime.
I am looking forward to my next three years in EDGE as I continue to go through the phases of self reflection and growth. I am also looking forward to the week long study abroad trip I will be taking with the rest of my cohort junior year. EDGE is an organization that helps to facilitate growth, and I am proud to be a part of it.
During my freshmen year at Texas A&M, I joined FREE. This decision to put myself out there and apply was ultimately one of the smartest of my life. During my time in FREE, I learned and gained so much, motivating me to apply to become a sophomore counselor in the organization that meant so much to me. Now, as the internal committee conselor, I am in charge of planning and leading weekly meetings, sending out a weekly update email, and planning and executing events internal to the organization.
I am very excited to spend my time over the next year as a leader for the class of 2028 at Texas A&M. By encouraging them to be leaders themselves, I am able to grow and develop my skills while making a positive influence on everyone around me. FREE has been one of the biggest blessing during my time at A&M, and I am happy to be in the organization for another year!
