Goals

I have 4 main goals—some short term some long—which I am constantly working to achieve.
These goals keep me motivated and humble as I continue through my college journey.

Find a Summer 2025 Internship

One of my main current goals is to find an internship for this upcoming summer. Having participated in an internship program this past summer, I believe it is very beneficial to my development and progress towards becoming a professional. I am specifically looking for an internship in the aerospace engineering field, one that helps me to apply the skills I am learning in the classroom and see the real world applications of the knowledge I am gaining.

While I am currently looking for an aerospace internship, I am also open to other kinds both within and outside of the field of engineering. Having interned at a business incubator during the summer of 2024, I recognize the value in expanding my sphere of knowledge and not focusing solely on the technical side of things.

Get a Masters in Aerospace Engineering or an MBA

While I am currently undecided on whether I want to pursue a masters in engineering or an MBA, I do know that I would like to continue my education beyond my undergraduate years. For both the MEng and MBA, Texas A&M offers a 4+1 year program where I would be able to obtain my masters in just one year after graduating. This would be very beneficial as it would allow me to stay in the area I love while cutting down on my time in school.

I have aspired to do a MEng in Aerospace since I got to A&M; however, due to my business oriented internship, I have recently been considering getting an MBA to help me dive more into the business operations side of the aerospace field. This internship really helped to open my eyes to the opportunities post college, and has given me a great debate that I constantly go back and forth on. If you have any input into the MEng vs. MBA debate, please reach out to me, because I would love to hear your opinions!

Graduate from Texas A&M Summa Cum Laude

To graduate from Texas A&M Summa Cum Laude, I will need to maintain a GPA of 3.9 or higher throughout my 4 years in undergrad. While this is a challenge and will require hardwork and dedication, I believe this is something that will help to set me apart from my peers as we continue into graduate school and the workforce. Not only will I have heavy involvement in the community around me, but I also plan to maintain a high standard for my grades.

School has always been something I have enjoyed, so this goal represents a continued dedication to that fact as I continue into my upper level aerospace engineering coursework. I am constantly working towards this goal by prioritizing my classwork and staying on top of everything that I do. Even with the many clubs and organizations I am part of, I ensure that my grades do not fall behind.

Expand the Influence and Reach of the Space Industry

One of my main long term goals is to expand the influence of the space industry as a whole. While this is quite vague and not super clear, it is something that I have been aiming to do ever since I found my passion for space. I want to make space not some blocked off, only for the smart people industry, but rather a place where anyone can belong and apply their skills. In order for humanity to ever create truly successful civilizations in space, it will be important to have as much support as possible from every person interested.

I am currently working towards this goal in one main way—founding the Space Professional Society at Texas A&M. This society will allow anyone with a passion for space to get involved with the industry, and it directly aligns with my overall goals. I have also worked towards this from my last internship where I wrote about and shared the stories of leaders in the space industry, helping to show that anyone can make a significant change and difference in the industry.
